The Harleston & Waveney Art Trail 2009
The Harleston & Waveney Art Trail (or HWAT) is a small community of professional artists based in the picturesque Waveney Valley,, bridging the county boundaries of North Suffolk and South Norfolk, all within reach of the market town of Harleston.
HWAT takes place each summer, and there is a wide range of fine art and crafts to see: from paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture and photography to textiles, illustration, mosaic art, ceramics and glassworks. Our special Guest Artists for 2009 are the painter sculptor Derek Nice and the acclaimed potter Clive Davies. In all, twenty six artists opened their studios and workshops over three consecutive weekends this summer.
Entry to all studios and workshops is free, and work can be purchased direct from the artists. The Art Trail brochure is available from The Harleston Gallery, The Cork Brick Gallery in Bungay (both galleries host taster exhibitions during the Art Trail), from many tourist information centres and libraries, or it can be downloaded from our website: visit www.hwat.org.uk for more details.
