a little haiku for two

from salt and earth,
i made a dystopian green with envy,
and chemistry smiled somewhat slyly

the ashes sighed,
mourning the old flame,
murmuring, if only…

seeing shades of grey.. there is a reason for this.. strangely, it helps to see the relationship of colours, the balance or contrast between vibrant and muted hues..

i have still to finish this, the closest i have been for a long time to something resembling an installation piece…

i’ve become quite obsessed by the poetry of john clare, to the extent that i hope to find (but never do) an old volume in a charity shop… but this is where the internet has its rewards…

why john clare, a man (a poet) beset by a deep depression, a troubled being who found solace and peace in the most ordinary of nature’s encounters, all the more relevant because it was found in the fenlands… in that, if you cast aside for a moment his mental illness, what an exquisite connectedness he had with the minutiae of landscape..
